On Friday 20th March, a group of our SEND pupils travelled to Thetford Academy to take part in a
Panathlon event hosted by St James’s Place. It was a fantastic opportunity for the children to
experience a range of inclusive sporting activities alongside pupils from other schools across
Breckland. The event was organised as a round robin of activities, giving the children the chance to try a
variety of different sports including bowling, curling and basketball. Our pupils approached every
activity with enthusiasm and determination, supporting one another and giving each challenge their
very best effort.
It was wonderful to see how much the children enjoyed themselves throughout the day. Their
confidence grew with each activity and their teamwork and encouragement for one another really
stood out. The atmosphere was brilliant, with lots of smiles, laughter and great sporting spirit from
all the schools involved.
We were incredibly proud of how well our team performed. Their hard work paid off as Redcastle
finished in first place, earning fantastic gold medals for their efforts. The celebrations continued on
the journey home, with a joyful rendition of “We Are the Champions” on the minibus.
Well done to all of the pupils who took part and represented Redcastle so brilliantly. It was a
fabulous day with a truly fantastic group of students.

Year 6 - Thetford Rugby Club

On Wednesday 18th March, our Year 6 rugby team travelled to Thetford Rugby Club to take part in
the Thetford Cluster Games. It was a fantastic day of sport and teamwork, and the boys
represented the school brilliantly throughout.
The morning began with a round-robin of skill-based activities. The team demonstrated excellent
skill, precision and work rate in each station, showing how much progress they have made during
their training. Their focus, teamwork and determination were evident in every activity.
After lunch, the competition moved into a round-robin of matches against other schools. The boys
performed exceptionally well, winning all of their games and conceding only one try across the
entire tournament. Their organisation, communication and commitment on the pitch were
outstanding.
What made the day even more special was the way the team conducted themselves. Several other
schools commented on their fairness in play, their excellent sportsmanship and the way they
encouraged not only each other but also the teams they were playing against. This was a wonderful
reflection of the values we promote at Redcastle.
Well done to all of the boys for such a fantastic effort and for representing Redcastle so positively.
