Governor's Report - September 2026
Once again, the pupils and staff of Redcastle Family School, ended the academic year celebrating their many successes.
Year 6 achieved excellent results in the SATs tests, maintaining the school ‘s position in the top 10% in Norfolk and well above the National average. The class had spent an exciting, if somewhat chilly, week at the coast in February and this proved to be the highlight of their year.
The school has continued to expand its provision and is able to offer a further 16 places to pupils with identified SEND. This has widened the catchment area and increased the flow of taxis! The pupils attending the SRB and the SHIP are integrated into the school and very quickly feel part of the community.
Another area of expansion has been the opening of the nursery provision to 2 year olds. The bid for funding was unsuccessful, but the interest the proposal had generated identified the need and the proposal became reality. The work undertaken to improve the facilities had to be accomplished from within the school budget and resources were gathered from various cupboards! A charitable grant helped with outdoor equipment.
The school is very fortunate to move into the new school year with a stable staff and, after a difficult year in recruiting governors, with a new governing body of 10 people.
The parents and the local community continue to support the school in all its activities and through generous fund raising - these make a real difference for the pupils .
