Year 5

Date: 22nd Jan 2024 @ 8:19am

Hello and Happy New Year to you all,

We hope you had an enjoyable and splendid winter break. Year 5 have started 2024 with a bang and we were delighted to have won the attendance award for the Autumn Term, meaning we get a FREE trip to the cinema! What a wonderful experience. To win this prize, we had to have over 97% attendance for the whole term.

This term, our topic is the North Sea and the Norfolk Coast. In maths, we will be looking at fractions and decimal numbers, and in English, we will be looking at biography writing and descriptive writing. A huge focus will also be on our presentation and handwriting! In our super science lessons, we are looking at Forces, where we spent time last week conducting an investigation into air resistance! We had so much fun!

Our new school science vision is: "At Redcastle Family School, we want our pupils to be curious and inquisitive about the world around them. We believe science should stimulate the minds of our pupils, excite and engage them and ready our pupils for the modern world."

We truly believe science is such an incredibly interesting subject and our pupils love to take part in experiements and investigations!

Please ensure you read with your child as regularly as possible, asking questions about what they have read or what they might think will happen.

We look forward to seeing you at parents evening on Tuesday 23rd and 24th January.
